Oat and Oregano scones

These scones worked out really well and the children really liked them. i added the left over porridge (havregrøt) from breakfast. i had made a bit to much, perfect with cheese and salad.

Makes enough for 8

pre heat oven to 200oC

125gr     Plain flour

100gr     Spelt flour

3 tsp      Baking powder

3 tbs      Porridge ( havregrøt)

50 gr      Butter

150ml    Milk

1 tsp      Dried oregano

pinch of salt

Put the flours in a bowl with the salt and baking powder. Add the porridge and butter, mix into the flour unitl it looks like rough sand. Sprinkle in the oregano and then add the milk a bit at a time. Till you have a soft dough.

Put the dough on a floured work surface and cut out into circles, i use a galss works really well. put on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven for about 10 minutes. They are cooked when they are golden brown and sound hollow when you tap the bottom. Leave to cool and then enjoy.
